Alan Dershowitz calls for apology after Epstein episode of ‘The Good Combat’

Former Harvard Legislation professor Alan Dershowitz is planning to sue ViacomCBS and the producers of “The Good Combat” after the authorized drama known as him a “shyster” and implied he had participated in illicit sexual conduct through the season 4 finale on the Jeffrey Epstein case, based on a report.

On July 17th, Dershowitz’s legal professionals despatched a letter to “The Good Combat” showrunners demanding they take away the content material and subject a public apology, based on Selection.

Within the letter, Dershowitz’s legal professional, Imran Ansari, wrote of the Might 28 finale — titled, “The Gang Discovers Who Killed Jeffrey Epstein:

“Clearly, the dialogue and the context wherein it’s made, with phrases loaded with innuendo resembling ‘therapeutic massage,’ ‘Epstein,’ the ‘Virgin Islands,’ together with the phrase ‘shyster,’ falsely means that Professor Dershowitz engaged in sexual conduct, i.e. a ‘therapeutic massage,’ with an underage lady related to Epstein, and is crooked, unscrupulous and mendacity about it, i.e. a ‘shyster.’ ”

Jonathan Anschell, normal counsel to ViacomCBS, fired again with a July 28 letter saying the collection is fictional. Individuals “don’t watch the Collection for factual details about Professor Dershowitz or anybody else,” he wrote.

Nonetheless, the episode referred to Dershowitz by title.

Dershowitz instructed Selection, “The concept that a fictional character can get away with defaming anyone is known as a new one. You both must have a wholly fictional account wherein they make up the names of everyone or a truthful account. You may’t combine the genres. Whenever you do combine the genres, the legislation of defamation applies.”

By Friday, CBS had neither taken the episode down nor issued an apology.

The dialogue Ansari referred to was between fictional lawyer Benjamin Dafoe (David Alford), Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) and Liz Reddick (Audra McDonald).

On Friday, Dershowitz once more defended his title in connection to Epstein, after his title appeared in a doc dump regarding a defamation case involving the pedophile’s accused madam, Ghislaine Maxwell.
